With only four games left before the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City, it is safe to say that the Lady Bears’ unorthodox schedule has played into the strengths and weaknesses of Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey’s young team.

Mulkey said she did not have a complete idea of how her team would be able do this season, nor did she have set opinion on the way she felt about the schedule worked out.

The No. 7 Lady Bears beat the Texas Longhorns 72-58 in another huge Big 12 road win on Sunday at Frank Erwin Special Events Center in Austin. Baylor (22-3, 12-1) climbs even higher atop the Big 12 standing with the win over Texas (17-8, 8-5) on Sunday, all but solidifying first place in the Big 12 regular season.

Baylor volleyball will look to rebound from its 1-5 start in Big 12 play tonight against conference rival Kansas State. The Bears are losers of two straight against Texas Christian and Oklahoma, and sit at an overall record of 9-13. Kansas State comes into the match with a record of 14-5 and 2-4 in the Big 12.

The No 1. Lady Bears played with a chip on their shoulder in the Big 12 Tournament Championship game after a sloppy game against Oklahoma State on Sunday. Baylor responded in dominating fashion as they went on to win the Big 12 Championship for the third consecutive year after defeating No. 23 Iowa State 75-47.

The No. 1 Lady Bears defeated Oklahoma State 77-69 in a physical, hard fought battle Sunday in the semi-finals of the Big 12 Tournament with senior guard Jordan Madden coming through in the clutch.

Senior post Brittney Griner led Baylor with a double-double, scoring 30 points. She also had 10 rebounds, seven blocks and three steals. Senior forward Brooklyn Pope had 12 points, seven rebounds, three assist and three steals. Senior forward Destiny Williams scored all 10 of Baylor’s bench points.

Baylor softball (5-2) will compete in the Miken Classic from today to Sunday after winning its seventh Getterman Classic this past weekend. The Lady Bears continue their 12-game homestand and they are 12-4 all-time in the Miken Classic.

The No. 1 Baylor Lady Bears will face off against TCU for the second time this season in the “Sic’em for the Cure” game at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ferrell Center.

The Lady Bears stayed on top of the Big 12 after beating Texas Tech 89-47 last night.

Though the ultimate result was the same as when they last battled the Lady Raiders, the statistics were noticeably different.

Goals were plentiful for Baylor’s women’s soccer team Sunday afternoon. The Lady Bears moved to 2-0 on the season with a 5-0 win over the Northwestern State Lady Demons. “I wanted to see maturity in my team,” head coach Marci Jobson said. “[We wanted] to be able to come out against a team that we should be able to beat. I think they did that.” The Lady Bears started the first half strong.
