Along with a completely revised core curriculum and new electives, the total credit hours required to complete a major or secondary major has dropped from 36 to 30. Many prerequisites, which often barred non-majors from enrolling in a course, have also been stripped.

The Baylor Career Center hosted over 115 employers for Career Day Tuesday in the Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center. The Lariat spoke to two of these companies to get their advice for students looking to give themselves the best shot at a selective job or internship.

Around 80% of students who do internships have full-time jobs by the time they graduate. Rylander said students who have good experiences at their internship can land a full-time job either at the same company or through the skills they have gained.
Around 2,500 students showed up for this semester’s Career Day, according to Rylander. Recruiters were there to get to know students and explain their company further.
