With a variety of fast food options at our fingertips, it’s easy to overlook local food options when treating yourself to a meal out. However, Waco has lots of affordable, healthy and delicious food options within a few miles of campus.

Making Baylor feel like home can be an awfully difficult transition, especially when it’s 5,000 miles away from family and any kind of familiarity. Despite the inherent challenge, Cami Benedetti of Mendoza, Argentina, and Sergio Rodríguez of Madrid, Spain have found their new sense of home through the warmth and devotion of Baylor students and faculty.

What I’ve learned is that it’s OK to envision your dream life, but don’t make the same mistake I did by ignoring some of the more unfavorable bits. For all you soon-to-be Bears, here are some things I suggest considering.

Once classes get going and you have found your new best friends, you might not miss home. But in those still moments when nothing is happening, you start to wonder about home. You wonder about waking up late, not having a pile of assignments and seeing your childhood pets.
