For the 35th-annual Food for Families drive, the Scouting America Longhorn Council, H-E-B and KWTX News 10 are partnering with food pantries across Central Texas to hold a one-day food drive that collects and stocks the shelves of local food banks and pantries.
Operation Christmas Child is a service project through Samaritan’s Purse, which collects shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items.
“It’s really important to do stuff like this,” Hankins said. “This is a good platform for us to show Jesus to others, especially to the kids that might not have the opportunity to get toys on Christmas.”
With the central theme of generosity, Thanksgiving and Christmas provide opportunities to give back to the community — and at All-University Thanksgiving and Christmas on Fifth, attendees can spread the spirit of giving right here at Baylor.
