Despite the loss by men’s basketball to Kansas last week, the Ferrell Center sold out last Saturday for the game against now No. 2 Missouri.

The Ferrell Center will play host to some of the NBA’s biggest names at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1.

Baylor men’s basketball kicked off its 2011-12 season Friday with Moonlight Madness at the Ferrell Center as part of ESPNU’s Midnight Madness.

Baylor Parking Services records show fewer students opted to purchase this year’s new discounted parking decals for the East Campus Parking Garage and the Ferrell Center parking lots than parking services employees had hoped.

Baylor students and visitors on campus should expect to encounter a massive gathering of student organizations and even watch a game of Quidditch at Fall Premiere this weekend.

Members of Baylor Medical Service Organization were treated with a visit from a local life flight helicopter crew and the Waco Fire Department on Wednesday in the Ferrell Center parking lot.

Imagine entering the Ferrell Center on a Saturday evening for a huge conference rivalry game. Immediately upon arrival, an array of sounds, smells, chants and music engulf the fans as they find their way to their seats. The thrill of competition and battle between rivalries lie just ahead on the court.

The Lady Bears walked onto the court Wednesday night wearing No. 5 T-shirts in warmups; they walked off with shirts that read, “Big 12 Champions.” Even without senior Melissa Jones on the court, her presence in the Ferrell Center was all Baylor needed as it went on to soundly defeat Missouri, 84-52.

aylor has recently pulled out all the stops in its efforts to create a sustainable and picturesque campus. From the demolition of Ivy Square to the newest plans to fill in the roads surrounding of Fountain Mall, students have been subjected to the forces of the administration who are determined to fulfill the Baylor 2012 imperatives calling for “useful and aesthetically pleasing physical spaces” in order to “create a truly residential campus.”

With winter comes cold temperatures, multi-layers and congestion, and that’s just in the parking garages. Though the parking problem persists all year round, leaving students with limited options for parking, Matt Penney, director of parking and transportation services, explained at the Student Senate meeting over how his department is working to fix the current parking situation at Baylor.

Overcoming a Reed Arena crowd and a No. 5/6 Aggie squad may have been the toughest conference challenge for Baylor this season, but the Lady Bears should not expect a much easier foe when they host No. 13 Oklahoma at 7 p.m. today at the Ferrell Center.
