Breathing is the alpha and omega of human life. It signifies the beginning and end, and it is a big determiner of our physical and mental problems. Paying more attention to your breathing and practicing deep breathing techniques unarguably improves your sanative value.

While there are definitely movies that warrant tears, some of the movies I’ve cried to are a bit embarrassing to admit — at least according to my siblings. So, here’s a list of the movies I’ve cried to, from least embarrassing to most embarrassing. I promise some of these have gotten to you too.

In a society that encourages and praises strength, resilience and that “boss babe” mentality, vulnerability is often overlooked or viewed as a sign of weakness. However, beneath the surface, there is a profound power in being vulnerable.

As normal people on our own, we can’t really do anything that will put a stop to the bombings, the injury, the genocide. However, as a collective, we can put in an effort to attain peace by providing humanitarian aid, writing to Congress for cease-fire, supporting Palestinian-owned businesses or even just spreading the word on how to help if you don’t have much to give. In the grand scheme of the war, these acts may seem small, but the truth is that Gazans will take all the help they can get.

The holiday season can be a lonely time for those who are single. But there is a solution that doesn’t involve scrolling mindlessly on dating apps, sulking in your bedroom or waiting for someone to approach you in a Waco coffee shop and invite you to a candlelit dinner: Take yourself out on dates.

There were good parts of Line Camp, such as the friends I made and the knowledge I left with. It also helped familiarize me with the campus and nearby areas. However, between the emotional rollercoaster and the sleep deprivation, it was overbearing and a bit peculiar at times.

One of my favorite classic rom-coms is “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” but even with its witty, humorous take on dating, it presents an interesting phenomenon: Women are extremely aware of what it takes to keep (or lose) a man. But is that same knowledge really projected to men as well? In my dating experience, the overwhelming answer is no. So, why not flip the script? Here’s how to lose a girl in 10 days.

If you are grieving and struggling to process, don’t seclude yourself. Let others in. Help yourself unpack the events that have happened, whether they occurred years ago or recently. Let the calm after the storm come.

Instead of letting yourself become addicted to your phone, use it as a tool to keep in contact with people you don’t get to see often or as a tool to deepen your understanding of topics you’re curious about. Right now, they are simply becoming a tool to dull senses, push away thoughts and numb emotions.
