Being busy college students can get us into the habit of being work-minded all the time. Being dedicated to your studies and working a job are both good things — but you’re still a kid. Having fun and being joyful is important.

The Leadership, Education and Development Living-Learning Community, otherwise known as the LEAD LLC, will move across campus for the 2024-2025 academic year. Construction in Allen and Dawson Halls — the former home of the LEAD LLC — means that residents will find a temporary home in Texana and University House, located in North Village.

The tradition of fraternity sweethearts and little sisses has been passed down for decades, as many women have served in the role and still do today at Baylor. From baking cookies to serving as homecoming queen nominees, they do so much to serve and represent their fraternities well, and the love and care fraternities show them can last a lifetime.

Everyone craves friendships that are healthy, two-sided and loving, especially in college, where we are constantly surrounded by people our age. I have found that in order to find friends who are kind and giving, you must be that sort of friend in return.

“Any kind of medical volunteering is very highly considered by medical schools, especially if you’re investing so much time,” Selkin said. “A week may not seem like a long time, but you are investing a week of your summer to go to a foreign country, probably somewhere that you’ve never been before, maybe a language that you don’t speak. That is a great chance to talk about cultural immersion and diversity. It’s a great opportunity to expand not only what you know but to see what else is out there.”

When it comes to finding a significant other, things may look different for LGBTQ+ students at private Christian universities. Members of Gamma Alpha Upsilon, an unaffiliated LGBTQ+ advocacy group at Baylor, said being in an openly queer relationship is especially complicated at Baylor.

Members of the U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) can be seen weekly on campus in uniform, doing drills or simply going to class. While their uniforms may make them stick out among their non-military counterparts, few stop to consider their distinct roles as college students who are also military officers in training.

​​The importance of higher education in an age of global rivalry and technological developments cannot be emphasized enough, and the argument over whether or not all students should receive a free college education has gained tremendous traction. Proponents contend that offering a free college education is not just a commendable goal but also a tactical necessity for promoting societal advancement, economic expansion and personal empowerment.

If you choose to surround yourself with peers who don’t acknowledge self-growth or well-being, you most likely never will either. However, if you decide today that your peers are flattening the tires of your energy bus, new revelations will naturally come your way. Remember that good leaders are often surrounded by great people.

The number of stalking cases at Baylor rose by about 74% from 2021 to 2022, according to the 2023 Annual Fire Safety and Security Report. This increase has been seen across multiple campuses as stalking becomes more prevalent and recognized at colleges.
