After weeks and even months of choreographing, practicing and dancing ‘til they drop, the performers of Pigskin had their moment of glory tonight. After the homecoming court was announced and the curtain was dropped, it was showtime.

Today is the day when some of the best acts from February’s All-University Sing will return to Waco Hall for the annual Pigskin Revue. Tonight at 7 p.m. — opening night — Kappa Omega Tau, Chi Omega, Phi Kappa Chi, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Tau Kappa Epsilon and Sing Alliance will take to the stage.

This weekend is overflowing with iconic annual Waco events to attend such as Waco Heart of Texas Fair & Rodeo and Silobration, so clear your schedule and make some time for fun! It’s going to be a hot one, so hold off on those cozy fall sweaters just a little bit longer. Make sure your phone is fully charged or have a camera on hand — you’re gonna want pictures for the memories!

Finally, Colony House’s iconic surf rock hit, “You Know It,” which made big waves on TikTok recently, was a natural closer. The group ended on a high note, leaving the crowd with hearts racing from the jumping and the head banging. Caleb tossed his guitar in the air and caught it like a bride, a great relief after the moment hung in suspense of cracking wood and popping strings.

Over 20 years down the tracks, neon strip lights illuminate the faces of members of Colony House in the back of their tour bus on a stop in Columbia, Mo. The self-described “landlocked surf rock” band boasts over one million monthly listeners on Spotify and is soon to headline Alpha Chi Omega’s Block Party.

Going through victims’ stories has not only helped Talluri to realize how many people experience assault, but also how many people likely haven’t told their stories yet. The university chapter of Alpha Chi Omega and the department of multicultural affairs will host a lip-syncing contest titled “Break the Silence.” The event will take place at 7 p.m. today in the Bill Daniel Student Center bowl. The event was created in order to raise money for the Waco Family Abuse Center, an organization designed to eliminate domestic violence in McLennan County and surrounding areas. Although there is no charge for admission, donations are welcome.

To three senior interior design majors, Martin House has been their base of operations for the last three years.

Former Lady Bears basketball forward Morghan Medlock shared her experience with domestic violence Wednesday during Take Back the Night on Fountain Mall.

Sing 2011 was filled with awesome sets, great themes and much improvement. We’ve made some observations on each of the acts. They aren’t meant to be rude — they’re meant to highlight the good and point out the areas that need improvement. Thanks to all the performers for their hard work. Our top three picks are Kappa Omega Tau, Alpha Tau Omega and Pi Beta Phi.
