I’ve never been a big fan of guns — at least, not in real life. In movies, they’re exciting, dangerous and (dare I say it) sexy. In terms of media and the ideals guns symbolize (i.e. freedom, protection, power), it’s easy for someone to be a gun enthusiast in theory. America’s love for guns in the media has only strengthened the impression that Americans are aggressive, violent and power-hunger in every aspect of life. As individuals we know this isn’t true.
The NCAA has accepted Baylor’s self-imposed penalties and will not add further penalties for recruiting infractions involving impermissible telephone calls and text messages, according to a university press release Wednesday.
Baylor could face NCAA sanctions after a three-year investigation revealed the men’s and women’s basketball programs made 738 impermissible text messages and 528 impermissible phone calls to recruits.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”
