Baylor Athletic Director Mack Rhoades is taking a leave of absence for “personal reasons” from the University and stepping down from his post as chair of the College Football Playoff Committee, The Baylor Lariat confirmed Thursday. The Lariat has confirmed the university received allegations not connected to football, any Title IX matters, NCAA rules issues or student welfare earlier in the week. The university is investigating the allegations.
Baylor lost in four sets to the Wildcats. The Bears have not won on the road since Sept. 24, when they took down Texas Tech 3-1.

Tracy O’Connor, the Robinson Police Department spokesman, said a passing motorist called Robinson police at 7:22 a.m., alerting them of a stalled vehicle with emergency lights flashing on Loop 340 near Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Police arrived at 7:25 a.m. and a man’s body was found below the bridge near where the vehicle was stalled.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
