While driving northbound on I-35 Friday afternoon, Plano freshman Lauren Watts was pulled over in Hill County by a man she said she believed was impersonating a police officer. The Hill County Sheriff’s Office said it is currently investigating the incident.
Around 2:16 a.m. Sunday morning, four to eight shots were fired at the 2300 block of 2nd St., leaving one man dead. One source who went to the party and another acrobatics & tumbling team member confirmed the party was hosted by members of the acrobatics & tumbling team after winning their meet on Saturday.

John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
