In recognition of Women’s History Month, women faculty were celebrated for their variety of talents Tuesday afternoon at the Reception Celebrating the Teaching and Research of Baylor Women Faculty.
Baylor’s Office of Access and Learning Accommodation is set to be relocated from the first floor to the basement of the Sid Richardson Building this fall. “It feels like a step backward,” Katy senior Brenna Colihan said. “Baylor’s been doing such a good job of trying to push accessibility forward, … but at the same time, moving OALA to the basement makes it feel like [students who use their services] are trying to be hidden.”
In 2002, Baylor started extending Easter break to include Good Friday, creating more time in the school calendar for students and faculty to go home, be with their loved ones and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Dr. Burt Burleson, university chaplain and dean of spiritual life, said he began to get more involved in the church in his early adolescent years, when he started to fully understand the meaning of Easter beyond chocolate bunnies and egg hunts.
While serving in the role of student body president over the past year, The Woodlands senior Nick Madincea has brought the distinct perspective of a nontraditional student and an entrepreneur to Baylor student government.

President Donald Trump has approved the execution by firing squad of Nidal Hasan, the former Army major convicted of killing 13 people in the 2009 Fort Hood mass shooting, with the execution scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Central Texas military installation, roughly an hour from Baylor’s campus.

The Iran war is now in its 46th day. Iran responded by restricting access to Hormuz, which carries about a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil, and moving to toll vessels transiting the strait. Waco drivers are already feeling it. The local average hit $3.38 a gallon last week, up 21 cents in seven days and 75 cents year-over-year, according to AAA data.
