The daughter of one of the world’s most sought-after drug lords has been charged with trying to enter the United States on someone else’s passport, U.S. officials said, becoming the latest family member to become ensnared in U.S. courts.

Alejandrina Gisselle Guzman Salazar, 31, was arrested Friday at San Diego’s San Ysidro port of entry.

Texas Hunger Initiative, a program of Baylor’s School of Social Work, is partnering with the United States Department of Agriculture to host the Together at the Table: Southwest Regional Hunger Summit, which will stretch from today to Thursday.

Felix Baumgartner stood poised in the open hatch of a capsule suspended above Earth, wondering if he would make it back alive. Twenty-four miles below him, millions of people were right there with him, watching on the Internet and marveling at the wonder of the moment.

Because of a $5,000 donation by an anonymous donor, the Humane Society of Central Texas can provide cost-free adoptions for 100 dogs at their upcoming Howl-A-Ween event.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Humane Society facility.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
