They’re all trailblazers in the civil rights movement, according to University of Houston history professor Dr. Linda Reed, who presented a lecture last night at Bennett Auditorium.
Weeks after New York enacted the nation’s toughest gun laws, California lawmakers said Thursday they want their state to do even more in response to recent mass shootings, particularly the Connecticut school massacre.
Democrats who control the state Legislature revealed 10 proposals that they said would make California the most restrictive state for possessing firearms.
Student Government debated a bill at length Thursday that calls Baylor’s administration to action to make $10,000 worth of improvements to the Bear Trail.
The bill’s author, Arlington sophomore Dominic Edwards, explained to the Student Senate that the bill calls for the administration to install two stretching structures at the start of the Bear Trail, additional water fountains along the trial, as well as additional lighting and signage showing the correct path to follow.
