Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk spoke against critical race theory (CRT) to a packed house at the Waco Convention Center Wednesday evening as part of Turning Point USA’s (TPUSA) “Exposing Critical Racism Tour.” The speech was sponsored by the Baylor chapter of TPUSA, which recently received an official charter from the university.

“That is why we do what we do and continue to show up every year,” Rylie York, president of Chi Omega, said. “We just want to uphold that Baylor tradition that people in chapters have done in the past.”

Imagine that in the middle of October there was a nice long break. Students could utilize this time to catch up on homework and see their families — but mainly to reflect on the semester and take a break.

When I arrived on the grounds, I really didn’t know what to expect. As a Houston native, I grew up going to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo every year since I was about six years old. It is a time-honored tradition that I have enjoyed so much. So when I saw that Waco had a rodeo that’s considered to be a pretty big deal I knew instantly that I had to check it out.

Senior golfer Gurleen Kaur, who holds the lowest scoring average in Baylor women’s golf history, wants to finish out her career as a Bear strong.

“I think we so desperately missed it last year, that when we got the opportunity to get to Pigskin again and put this act back on stage, we were just so excited,” Thomas said.

Baylor’s 2021 homecoming week began Tuesday with the Dinner with the Livingstones event. Students were invited to the lawn of the Allbritton House to enjoy free food from a multitude of local food trucks, visit with other students and the Livingstones and listen to live music performed by the alternative-pop band Apollo LTD.

“Our main goal is that they’re successful at Baylor; that’s our No. 1 goal,” Menking said. “But at the same time, we hope that they stay at Baylor. We hope that they’re integrated into Baylor, that they feel like Baylor students by the time they’re done with our program, that they really favor culture, that they feel like part of the community by the end of that — you know — that pathway program. And we’ve been super successful with that.”
