With Baylor football’s spring football slate at a conclusion, head coach Dave Aranda said a decision on naming a starting quarterback should come at some point next week.

No. 5 seed Baylor men’s tennis was outmatched by No. 4 seed University of Oklahoma, 4-3, in the first round of the Big 12 Conference Championships Friday afternoon at the Jayhawk Tennis Center at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kan.

It hasn’t been an easy season for No. 5 seed Baylor men’s tennis, but through the struggles, confidence never wavered. Now the Bears are back to full strength, and feel ready to make a run in the Big 12 Tournament.

After seven lead changes, Baylor baseball found a way to claw itself to the first road victory of the Mitch Thompson era, courtesy of a 7-6 win over Sam Houston State University Tuesday night at Don Sanders Stadium in Huntstville.

The last possibility is probably the worst, and that’s not saying or doing anything. Suddenly there’s a suitcase packed with what-ifs, and that kind of regret isn’t something anybody wants. It hurts more looking back and wondering what might have been if I were to say something and risk entering my name into the transfer portal if things went south.

Baylor baseball hosted the top team in the Big 12, No. 12 University of Texas, and gave the Longhorns a run for their money at Baylor Ballpark this weekend.

“Part of that’s [being] a young team, part of that’s [being] a new team,” Posey said. “But we’re really coming together, getting to know one another, trusting the coaches, and trusting each other. We’re really starting to believe that we can go out there, compete and be successful.”

As the Baylor football season turns over and new faces hope to shine, fifth-year senior offensive lineman Clark Barrington stepped into his position room as the oldest and most experienced athlete.

Riding a seven-game losing streak, Baylor baseball headed home for the first of four-straight home games. The Bears came out strong as the bats and arms fired on all cylinders to snap the skid against Stephen F. Austin State University, 10-3, on Tuesday at Baylor Ballpark.

“No one can deny that Mulkey gets results,” Erhart said. “Her ability to coach a team to wins is impressive. But, how she gets those results seems questionable and concerning. I hope her players all feel safe to be the fullness of themselves around her, because good coaching in any sport is about much more than results.”

Baylor men’s tennis head coach Michael Woodson and the Bears endured a seven-game losing streak early in the season but have since turned things around. Now on a six-game winning streak and with all of its firepower back, Baylor hopes keep the late-season push alive.

Baylor baseball looked to break a four-game skid in Lawrence, Kan., against University of Kansas, but the Bears were outscored 30-14 over the weekend and fell in all three games to the Jayhawks at Hoglund Ballpark.

Hot off a four-game winning streak, Baylor men’s tennis took down the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, 4-0, and Texas Tech University, 5-2, to start Big 12 play on Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center.

2022 was a tough year for Baylor football, but it’s running back room didn’t deplete too much over the offseason, and it has the potential to have a huge year.

“I used to play baseball [because] I love it,” Will said. “I still love it, but it’s almost to the point now where I don’t want to hang it up because so many people have invested so much time, energy and effort into getting me back on the field. I kind of feel like if I didn’t go out and keep playing, I’d let them down. That’s my big reason why I play, to make everybody’s time and effort worth it.”

Baylor men’s tennis appears to be back in a groove. Coming off two sweeps last weekend, the Bears traveled to Tulsa, Okla., and kept the hot streak going by defeating Oral Roberts University, 4-0, and the University of Tulsa, 4-2, in a doubleheader on Wednesday.

While Baylor baseball’s pitching arms kept the Bears in the game, struggles at the plate and leaving 14 runners on base plagued the green and gold, as it fell 5-2 in 11 innings to Abilene Christian University on Tuesday night at Baylor Ballpark.

Lots of Bears will be scattered throughout Stillwater, Okla., over the weekend, as Baylor baseball, No. 20 softball and No. 9 equestrian are all headed that direction.

Baylor men’s tennis came out firing on all cylinders and swept Southern Methodist University, 4-0, Thursday night in the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex in Dallas.

Instead of focusing on why something is “offensive” students should focus more on the experience. Again, it’s not easy to tell jokes, and many times it’s not easy to laugh, but the goal of comedy is to be funny — not to offend.

The 2022-23 Baylor women’s basketball season has officially come to a close, and while the final result for head coach Nicki Collen and the Bears wasn’t perfect, there is lots of potential for the 2023-24 season.
