In a reverse Groundhog Day situation, I’ve walked outside, checked the weather app in disbelief and declared another week of summer weather. As you dream of fall vibes, here are a few activities in Waco, taking place both indoors and outdoors.
Carter Faith | Sept. 25 | 8:30 p.m. | Outside Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center | Free | Mosey on over to Howdy at the Hurd to catch rising country artist Carter Faith. Faith is nominated for new artist of the year at the CMA awards.
Nirvani | Sept. 25 | 8:30 p.m. | The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill, 511 S. Eighth St. | $24.87 General Admission | Nirvana and alternative rock fans can come together at The Backyard for Nirvani: A Nirvana Tribute Experience. Come as you are and smell the teen spirit.
Dangerous Toys | Sept. 26 | 8:30 p.m. | The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill, 511 S. Eighth St. | $23.12 General Admission | Rock on with Dangerous Toys at The Backyard this Saturday. This band is based in Austin and plays hard rock music.
Pat Green | Sept. 26 | Time TBD, 15 minutes after game ends | Outside McLane Stadium, 1001 S. M.L.K. Jr. Blvd. | Free | Pat Green is coming for the third installment of the Baylor Backyard Live Series. Following Baylor’s Big 12 opener against Colorado, head out to Touchdown Alley for some country music.
Come From Away | Sept. 25-27 | Times vary | Waco Civic Theatre, 1517 Lake Air Drive | $30-40 | “Come From Away” is an incredible show that will tug at your heartstrings. The musical is based on the true story of a plane that had to land in Gander, Newfoundland following the 9/11 attacks. Head to Waco Civic Theatre to enjoy this indoor activity and some musical storytelling.
UNight: Bloom and Brush | Sept. 26 | 8-11 p.m. | Barfield Drawing Room, Bill Daniel Student Center | Free to students | For the on-campus student searching for arts and crafts, the Baylor Union Board provides weekly UNight activities. This Saturday, they are offering plant pots to paint.
Adult Skate Night | Oct. 1 | 8-10:30 p.m. | Skate Waco, 401 Towne Oaks Drive | $10 | If schoolwork has you stuck and you’re looking for a way to blow off steam, glide over the Skate Waco for adult skate night. Grab your friends, strap on some skates and roll your worries away.
