Apply to be a part of the Lariat staff; editors share memories of the job

“As the youngest member of the editorial board, I can say with confidence that working alongside upperclassman on the Lariat staff has been incredibly rewarding. I remember walking into orientation on my very first day and seeing this powerhouse group of seniors who did their jobs well and had fun doing them. What surprised me was they welcomed me with open arms, quickly becoming not only my co-workers, but my mentors. They each took the time to get to know me and pass down the knowledge they had acquired on the job because they wanted me to succeed. I get to learn from them every day and celebrate their victories alongside them as they prepare to graduate this spring. While I know I am going to miss them, they stand as an example of what it’s like to join the Lariat team. It’s like getting adopted into a big, professional family of people who are passionate about their work and want to see you grow in your job and eventually fill their shoes so the next generation of Lariat staff feels just as welcomed.”
