    WEDNESDAY APRIL 4

     

    Community Service Commemorating MLK’s Assassination: A community reconciliation service commemorating the 50th Anniversary of MLK’s assassination, co-sponsored by Baylor University, Baylor Dining, the Waco Community Race Relations Coalition and the Waco NAACPA. Parking next door at the Dutton Ave. parking facility. 6 p.m., Refreshments served from 5:30 — 6 p.m. at Powell Chapel, Truett Seminary

    Live Music at Don Carlos: Feonix Theory (Rock) performs from 6:30 — 9:30 p.m. at Don Carlos, 4651 I-35 Frontage Road

    Live Music at La Fiesta: The Bill & Phil Show, live from 7 — 10 p.m. at La Fiesta, 3815 Franklin Ave.

    Woodwind Quintet Free Concert: Navy Band Southwest’s Woodwind Quintet will perform a free public concert at McLennan Community College. This ensemble blends the individual sounds of the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and saxophone to create a highly eclectic sonic palette. 2 p.m. at MCC, 1400 College Drive

     

    THURSDAY APRIL 5

     

    Navy Destroyer’s Concert: Navy Band Southwest’s Destroyers will perform a free concert at the Waco Hippodrome. The Destroyers is Navy Band Southwest’s premier Popular Music Group. Free. 6:30 p.m. at the Waco Hippodrome, 724 Austin Ave.

    Navy Band Concert and Fun Fair: A celebration of Navy Week — Food, fun, games and more. Activities start at 3:30 p.m and the concert begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Doris Miller Department of Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, 4800 Memorial Drive

     

    Live Music at Common Grounds: “When Forever Ends” (Alternative/Indie) live in Waco for the first time since releasing their album “Return To Your Rest.” $7 — $10. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., show at 8 p.m. at Common Grounds, 1123 S. 8th St.

    Live Music at The Backyard: Koe Wetzel (Country) performs at 9 p.m. at the Backyard Bar, Stage, and Grill, 511 S. 8th St.

    Early Music Ensembles: The Early Music Ensembles are historically informed chamber musicians, led by Assistant Professor of Musicology (and early violinist) Jann Cosart. Free admission. 5:30 — 6:30 p.m. at Armstrong Browning Library, 710 Speight Ave.

    Annual Juried Student Exhibition: Features artwork completed during the previous year by Baylor students in studio art classes. Runs through April 15. Hours are 10 a.m. — 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. — 4 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. — 4 p.m. on Sunday at The Martin Museum of Art in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave.
