The 43rd annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl features No. 6 Baylor (11-1, 8-1), champions of the Big 12, against No. 15 University of Central Florida (11-1, 8-0) from the American Athletic Conference. At the half, Baylor trails UCF 28-20.

UCF began the game with a 76-yard drive behind six rushing plays from junior quarterback Blake Bortles and junior running back Storm Johnson. UCF’s second drive also went for a touchdown after a 34-yard pass from Bortles and a 2-yard scamper from Storm Johnson.

The Bears would answer after junior quarterback Bryce Petty led a quarterback sneak into the end zone on Baylor’s third drive of the game. Baylor would waste an interception by senior cornerback Demetri Goodson, but would take advantage of another by senior linebacker Eddie Lackey. Petty threw a 30-yard bomb to Levi Norwood on the subsequent play.

UCF and Baylor would trade scores after that. Bortles threw a 50-yard touchdown to junior wide receiver Rannell Hall to give UCF a 21-13 lead, but Petty would answer back with a 13-yard touchdown run where he flipped into the end zone to pull Baylor within 21-20. With the touchdown, Baylor broke the all-time record for most points in a 13-game season.

UCF looked to answer back from their own 17-yard line with only 2:55 left to go in the first half. Bortles completed three passes to get UCF down to their 48. A pass interference call on senior cornerback K.J Morton extended the drive so Bortles could throw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Hall, his second grab of the day, and the last score before half.

Junior running back Lache Seastrunk is leading the game with 78 yards on the ground. Petty added 184 yards and three all-purpose touchdowns.

UCF is led by 114 rushing yards combined between Johnson and Bortles. Johnson has added two touchdowns on the ground. Bortles has thrown for 183 yards and two touchdowns, but has also thrown two interceptions. The 43rd annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl features No. 6 Baylor (11-1, 8-1), champions of the Big 12, against No. 15 University of Central Florida (11-1, 8-0) from the American Athletic Conference.
