OKLAHOMA CITY — Kelsi Kettler hit a game-ending home run just inside the left-field foul pole in the eighth inning, and Baylor beat Big 12 rival Oklahoma State 1-0 on Thursday at the Women’s College World Series.

Whitney Canion (30-10) pitched a three-hit shutout for the Bears, who lost both regular-season meetings against the Cowgirls. Kettler connected for just her second home run of the season to end it.

Both teams had a runner thrown out at the plate to keep the game scoreless going into extra innings.

Baylor right-fielder Kayce Walker couldn’t come up with the catch on a diving attempt at Alysia Hamilton’s liner in the third inning, but she got the ball in and a relay throw caught Ari Morrison at the plate.

OSU’s Mariah Gearhart threw out Baylor’s Holly Holl at the plate in the fifth.
