Uproar Records, Baylor’s student–run record label, is combining fashion and sustainability with its event, Project Greenway. This free event will include performances from Uproar artists Luke Hicks and Trannie Stevens, as well as a fashion show of “green” outfits.

Uproar Records’ singer-songwriter artist Trannie Stevens, a McGregor junior, has a lot of musical experience. She’s performed with big names like Toby Keith and Jack Ingram. She has been a headlining performer, recorded in Nashville and has big hopes for her musical future. However, performing with Sigma Alpha Epsilon during this year’s All-University Sing is a first for Stevens and an experience she calls incomparable.
She has shared the stage with music greats like Toby Keith, Jack Ingram and Ronnie Dunn. She won Collegiate Songwriter of the Year while just a freshman. But for McGregor junior Trannie Stevens, her headlining performance Saturday has the potential to make the greatest change in her pursuit of a serious music career.
Everything. That’s what music means to artist Johnny Stimson.
And this weekend, Baylor students can hear Stimson’s music right here in Waco. He will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Common Grounds. Tickets are $5 online and $7 at the door.
Performing with him will be Uproar artist Trannie Stevens and Aprilemade.
A Baylor student will share the stage with some of the biggest names in country music on Sunday.
McGregor sophomore Trannie Stevens will sing at the 2013 Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Hall of Fame Awards Show. Stevens will join Toby Keith, Jack Ingram, Larry Gatlin, Ronnie Dunn and Sonny Curtis as performers at the show in Austin.
Fifth and Fite, along with fellow Uproar Records artists O, Loveland and Trannie Stevens, performed Thursday for Baylor’s second annual Project Greenway fashion show.
Four down, one to go. So far, four of the artists signed to Uproar Records have finished recording with the duo of Paul Whitney and Colin Laflin, who jointly own Transient Workshop in Austin.

Trannie Stevens always had her eye on partnering with Uproar Records. Now, she grew up in Waco, and the freshman has watched the student-run record label on Baylor’s campus since its early beginnings a few years ago.
Freshman year is often called the year of firsts. First welcome week, first day of college. First time to live in a dorm room, first $500+ textbook purchase. First Baylor “sic ‘em” at the first Baylor football game, and the first time to do laundry for some.
After an intense audition and selection process, Baylor’s Uproar Records label has signed five artists for the upcoming year. The artists will all have the opportunity to have their music recorded professionally through Uproar Records.
