Now, after accomplishing what most would consider the feat of a lifetime, Sheldon has been breaking through obstacle after obstacle through a series of long-distance ultra runs. The grand finale? A run Sheldon calls “Tour de Buc” — from one Buc-ee’s in Hillsboro to the other in Temple.

Historically, the Robinson Family Farm is a perhaps best known for the autumn activities it hosts, and this year is no exception. The farm south of Waco has a pumpkin patch, a plethora of food and even helicopter rides. The farm’s fall festival started today and will run until Oct. 26.

Friday marked the first annual Tanglefoot Festival, bringing a stacked lineup of both barbecue and Texas musicians to Temple. The event also provided a family-friendly outlet for fun, featuring a variety of small businesses, a tattoo and piercing vendor and a mechanical bull.

The sun beat down hot on the shoulders of Dallas junior Carson Sheldon as he made his way down I-35 on April 13 — not in a car or truck, but in a pair of On Cloud running shoes. After six long, sweaty hours and a whopping 38 miles, Sheldon became the first known person to run from Baylor to the Buc-ee’s in Temple.

Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The name of the individual has not been released.
