St. Amant is something of an expert when it comes to true crime. She’s helped create over 20 episodes of CBS’ hit crime show “48 Hours.” She hosts not one, but two true crime podcasts. She even has a television series in the works. Now, she’s telling the story behind those stories in “Killer Story: The Truth Behind True Crime Television.”

Podcasts are nothing new. In 2004 — the dawn of the “Apple Era” — Adam Curry and Dave Winer sought to find a way to download online radio broadcasts to an iPod, coining the term “podcast” from the words “iPod” and “broadcast.” Today, it seems every celebrity, professional athlete and internet influencer has a podcast. Baylor students weighed in on their favorite podcasts.

Unlike any of the other forms of media listed above, podcasts have a way of efficiently providing educational information because of the amount of content that can be produced and the ability to multitask while listening to it.
