For the first time in Baylor history, men’s basketball is heading to the NCAA tournament in consecutive years. The Bears earned a three-seed in the West Region and will face Sun Belt Champion Georgia State in Jacksonville, Fla., to open postseason play Thursday.

The No. 5 ranked Lady Bears’ surprising success in the 2014-15 season earned Baylor a two-seed in the NCAA tournament and the job of hosting games of the first and second round of the tournament. Baylor earned itself an opening-round matchup against Northwestern State.
With the season winding down, the No. 15 Baylor Lady Bears are preparing to make a run for the NCAA Tournament. However, Baylor still needs to take care of business within the Big 12 Conference in order to gain favorable position for the end of the season.
Baylor (37-13, 8-6 Big 12) is currently third in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma and Texas.
Oklahoma and Texas hold the tiebreaker over Baylor due to series wins, so in the event of a tie, Baylor would lose out.
As tears streamed down the players faces when the buzzer hit zero, the Baylor Lady Bears came to the realization that their quest for a second consecutive National Title was over. With the expectations high, Baylor saw their chances dwindle with each 3-point jumper Louisville made.

The Baylor campus and Waco community are still in shock, trying to process how this could have happened. Many fans had already bought Final Four tickets and were planning a trip to New Orleans months in advance. Now with the Lady Bears out of the tournament, many are trying to sell them.
History repeated itself as the No. 5 Louisville Cardinals defeated the No. 1 Baylor Lady Bears 82-81, making this the second time Baylor lost to Louisville in a Sweet Sixteen game. Despite a last-minute rally, Baylor could not over come the largest deficit it has faced all year.
The journey to a second-consecutive National Championship continues for the No. 1 Lady Bears, who advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament to play No. 8 Florida State at 8:30 p.m. today at the Ferrell Center.

The Baylor volleyball team’s season is officially over after a regular season in which the Bears earned 20 wins and just 12 losses.
This season is just the sixth time in program history that the Bears reached the 20-win mark.
It is the second time that the team has won at least 20 matches under head coach Jim Barnes.
Last year, the Baylor women’s soccer team ended its season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the hands of North Carolina 5-0. This year, the 11th ranked Bears have advanced to the second round after beating Arizona State 3-1 on Friday.
The Bears are in Honolulu this weekend for the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic.
Entrance to this tournament is invitation only, something Barnes said the program had to deny in the past.
“I’m glad we got another invitation,” Barnes said. “This is a great tournament to be in.”
For the last two seasons, the Baylor volleyball team has made it to the NCAA tournament.
The incoming freshman class is ranked as the No. 16 recruiting class nationally.
Like most Baylor sports, volleyball is on the rise.
