Latry’s visit to Waco is part of Baylor School of Music’s Showcase Series, where he will perform works by Guilmant and Bach before closing with a live improvisation on a surprise theme. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Jones Concert Hall, followed by a master class with Baylor students the next day. Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.

Pinchen is among several students in the lab who are passionate about creating a happier life for those with dementia. She recalled that many of the patients light up and are so happy to be reconnected with songs they might not have heard in a while.
“I mean, if you’re not gonna have fun, why do it if it’s your job? My band is all my friends from home, so it’s pretty easy to go up there and have fun, and I just think to not take yourself too seriously is a good quality.”
“People want to die doing something they really enjoy,” Wilfong said. “If you’re going to go out, go out doing something you really enjoy. And I tell my students every semester, it’s like my way of going out; I want to be in front of a class lecturing and going on a rant about Dr Oz and his nutrition.”
These artists and these musicians play such a major role in our lives, so why not go spend a night giving back to them by seeing them live, having a whole lot of fun in the process?
Abilene freshman Luke Gibson is just starting his college career, but he is already a hit among the Baylor community. Gibson, a vocal performance major and Uproar artist, sings and plays his guitar at different locations around Baylor’s campus and is well known among Baylor students.
