The AfterDark Variety Show, presented by the student productions committee, kicked off family weekend. The show aims to showcase Baylor’s many talents to new freshmen and their visiting families. Friday night’s show was emceed by First Gentleman Brad Livingstone.

I looked for things like choreography, song choice, vocal talent, overall execution and story development. I gave extra considerations to acts that were particularly entertaining, or creative, and how well each act developed the story within their performance. Please keep in mind that this is all just one man’s opinion.
Who hasn’t wished they could play an incredible guitar solo at some point in their life? Everyone has moments in the car or in their room when they act out an amazing air solo and pretend to be the next Jimi Hendrix.
