According to the current owner of the greenhouse, Ashli Robken, Bonnie was a born-and-raised Wacoan and plant lover. Bonnie had originally started the greenhouse as a casual neighborhood shop, later growing her passion into a blooming business and local Waco staple.

The first point of Da’ Shack Farmer’s Market was to tackle food insecurity by educating Waco locals on gardening, given how advantageous it can be because of the regenerative cycle of crops.
Baylor’s Community Garden is starting fresh this fall after a three-year hiatus, with help from water-preservation technologies, campus composting and a new environmental humanities minor.
Baylor gardeners are using a Baylor alum-produced documentary to motivate students to get active in solving hunger issues in Waco.
“We’ve been wanting to reach the community more and have a collaboration for a joint effort to stop hunger in Waco,” Elizabeth Ross said.
