The No. 16 Baylor men’s basketball team will face the undefeated Boston College Eagles at 2 p.m. today in its first round game at the Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C.

Seniors Brady Heslip started his career as a member of the Boston College basketball team before transferring to Baylor. Heslip did not play in any games, however.

Heslip started this season shooting just 20 percent from the three-point arc. While his shooting numbers may be down, teams still have to put a defender in his face because he is such an established threat. This stretches the floor and allows guards to penetrate.

Freshman forward Quincy Miller has decided to enter the NBA Draft and forgo his final three years of eligibility. Miller originally decided to stay but announced Tuesday that he has changed his mind.

Baylor basketball fans associate him with his beard. His teammates take note of his leadership abilities and intensity. While he may resemble King Leonidas, senior Quincy Acy draws his strength and leadership abilities from his family.

Baylor men’s basketball will begin the Big 12 tournament against the Kansas State Wildcats at 11:30 a.m. today at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. This will be the third meeting of the season between these two teams. The Bears split the series with the Wildcats in the regular season 1-1.

No. 6 Baylor men’s basketball will look to bounce back from a deflating loss at home to the Kansas Jayhawks, as it takes on the No. 4 Missouri Tigers at 1:30 p.m. Saturday as they travel to Columbia, Mo.

In the first meeting of the two teams since the 2009 NIT semifinals, No. 11 Baylor (3-0) used a second-half push to surge past the San Diego State Aztecs (3-1) by a score of 77-67 Tuesday at the Ferrell Center.
