“I donate blood because I love to give when I can,” she said. “I know that there are people out there that are in need, and if I can help them, then I feel like it is my responsibility to.”

Baylor’s Red Cross Club gives students the opportunity to volunteer and serve their community through a variety of events, such as donating blood to help patients who need transfusions for ailments, surgeries and treatments.
According to Marcos Landin, primary blood drive coordinator, the Carter BloodCare mission statement is to “save lives by making transfusion possible.” He said blood is a constant need in the medical field, and a one-pint donation can save up to three lives.
With finals fast approaching, Baylor students can plan for a fair amount of studying and hard work in the near future, but they can also anticipate a bit of fun thanks to Alpha Phi’s first-ever Jubilee, a co-sponsored event with Baylor Activities Council.
