On April 17, 2013, Central Texas shook as a fertilizer production facility just north of Waco exploded from the interaction of ammonium nitrate with a fire. Most Texans remember that day well.

U.S Chemical Safety Board approves safety recommendations concluding the investigation of the West Fertilizer Plant explosion.
Concluding the 3 year investigation, the CBS has approved a list of recommendations that will help prevent tragedy such as the West Fertilizer explosion from occurring in the future.
