Happiness is built on habits, and before you can find joy in exercise, you have to have the dedication to push through the initial phase of low motivation, poor stamina, sore legs and general exhaustion.
Fish are fun, so imagine them in your dorm room in your first year on campus.
Humor is a powerful tool. It allows people in challenging times to cope with difficult circumstances, but it can also be used to degrade and diminish. After the Feb. 22 Russian invasion of Ukraine, social media was at once hit with memes centered around the possibility of World War III, the military draft, Russians and Ukrainians and other related scenarios. In response, many people have fired back at the creators of these memes with a question: Is this not in poor taste?
As prices increase, is it worth keeping Netflix as a streaming service?
I sincerely hope that for everyone going back home, this break is actually a break and not an overwhelming load of emotions and situations you hopefully didn’t have to go through this semester.
Pushing through difficult times is just as important as having the courage to say no to something, but sometimes quitting isn’t the answer. Part of the process is persevering through the hard times to get to a better time.
In case you weren’t aware, there seem to be a million things happening all at once all over the world. Some call it a dumpster fire; others say it’s a normal day in the newsroom.
Don’t let this semester be filled with the non-essential.
