Freshman designated hitter Dylan Perez walked it off, helping Baylor beat UTSA 10-9 in 12 innings. Perez’s hit capped off a four-hour, 42-minute thriller on Tuesday night.

Carr, a projected first-round pick, led the Bears in scoring with 18.9 points per game. The 6-foot-5 guard played one season at Baylor after starting his career at Tennessee.

The English department will launch a new international literary magazine, Independence Literary Review. Dr. Laura Biagi, lecturer in the English department, will teach a class in the fall that publishes the literary magazine.
