Since its invention in 1907, plastic has become one of the most widely used and cheapest materials in production. From food packaging to medical supplies, society has grown entirely dependent on the convenience of plastic. While its affordability and versatility make it appealing, plastic poses a significant problem due to its permanence.

From building off-road performance vehicles to attending national conventions with hundreds of job recruiters present, the clubs at Baylor help students perfect the areas they are studying by giving them real-world experiences.

“What we’re really trying to push toward is a more aware student population,” Burten said. “If we keep our vets in a little bubble, then nobody else can benefit from their experiences, which kind of defeats the purpose.”

“The goal is mostly to build an environment of Catholic fellowship,” Foley said. “It gives people an opportunity to go to the kind of event that typically college students want to go to, but hosted by a Catholic organization and with a Catholic mindset.”
