Zeta Tau Alpha put on its annual Big Man on Campus event Wednesday night at Waco Hall. Southampton, N.Y., sophomore and Pi Kappa Phi member Enzo Barranca took home the night’s winning title.
Self-driving cars have captivated society for years, featured in everything from movies and TV to news and the internet. Recently, car manufacturers have been in a race to get their version of “self-driving” or “auto-pilot” onto the road for drivers to use. However, with each push to deliver a product year after year, this technology gets more dangerous by the day.
Beginning in February 2025 and lasting until 2029, My35 Waco South works on the three-mile stretch of I-35 between 12th Street and South Loop 340. Along this stretch, crews will widen I-35 to eight lanes, reconstruct overpasses and bridges and complete various other work on sidewalks and on-ramps and off-ramps. Also, at Valley Mills Drive, the project will add a novel intersection design, according to Jacob Smith, Waco TxDOT public information officer.
“They’re more determined than ever … to have the chapter expand and have it be a presence on campus,” Ogden said.

A man last known to be in Moody, a town about 28 miles southwest of Waco, was recently added to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.
The series of robberies that occurred in the area west of Baylor campus last semester came to a stand still over the holiday season, while many students and faculty were on their breaks.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
