Other schools across Texas, such as Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas A&M in College Station, Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth and Collin College in Plano all dealt with similar active shooter hoaxes on Thursday.
Wednesday marks the 30th anniversary of the Waco Siege and Cook said although the incident may have left a black mark on Waco, Baylor has brought a beacon of light to the area.
Green and Gold Weekend will be hosting multiple activities that include: Gut Pak Run, the green and gold spring football game, softball, baseball, soccer, tennis and a variety of musical performances. Baylor Alumni will be hosting its BBQ Cook Off — a competition challenging participant’s grill skills — on Saturday at Bear Lawn, right outside of McLane Stadium.
“Everyone needs writers; everyone needs people who can communicate clearly and effectively and efficiently,” Dye said. “There are seemingly endless career options for people who have writing degrees. I think that a PWR degree sets you up to really do just about anything, because you will write no matter what you do for a career.”
