Members of the NCAA men’s basketball selection committee meet in Indianapolis this week for a mock tournament trial run that will mostly involve throwing up their hands in advance of this year’s free-for-all.
There is a new player atop Baylor’s career scoring leaderboard. With a left-handed layup in the Bears’ Tuesday night matchup with Wayland Baptist, senior LaceDarius Dunn notched his 2,190th point in a Baylor uniform and cemented his already well-documented place in Baylor basketball history.
Late in Saturday’s game against No. 3 Texas at the Erwin Center, Baylor needed a Herculean performance from somebody if it wanted any chance at scoring the upset. Senior LaceDarius Dunn gave the Bears just that with 22 second half points, but his team’s late comeback fell short in a 69-60 loss to the Longhorns.
Freshman Tristan Thompson had 17 points and 13 rebounds and No. 3 Texas held off a furious rally by LaceDarius Dunn and Baylor to remain undefeated in the Big 12 with a 69-60 victory Saturday.
After a slow start in icy Waco the men’s basketball team thawed out the court winning 74-70 over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
