No. 17 Baylor volleyball went up against Texas Tech on Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center. After a hard-fought match, the Bears took the match in a sweep, 29-27, 25-18, 25-18, recovering after the losing their eight-match win streak last week.

Baylor Men’s Tennis participated in the first round of the NCAA singles tournament yesterday. Through two hard-fought matches, sophomore Devin Badenhorst advanced to the next round against NC state’s Martin Borisiouk 6-4, 7 (9) -6 (7), and senior Oskar Brostrom Poulsen fell to Princeton’s junior Fnu Nidunjianzan 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Since hiring Spavital this offseason (and moving redshirt junior quarterback Sawyer Robertson into the starting lineup), Baylor’s offense has sped light years ahead of where it was a year ago. Jeff Grimes’ wide zone offense finished No. 101 nationally at 23.1 points per game. In less than a full season on the job, Spavital has the Bears up to No. 23 nationally and second in the Big 12 at 35.1 points per game.

No. 17 Baylor volleyball fell to No. 12 Kansas, 25-22, 26-24, 25-17, on Saturday at the Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena in Lawrence. The heavy-hitting Jayhawks were too much for Baylor to overcome, as they snapped the Bears’ eight-game winning streak.

Just three games into the season, junior forward Darianna Littlepage-Buggs is having a career year as the team’s leader in points and rebounds. Littlepage-Buggs led all players with 22 points and 11 rebounds as No. 17 Baylor women’s basketball dropped East Texas A&M, 104-55, Thursday night at the Foster Pavilion.

Baylor baseball is no stranger to success, and assistant coach Zach Dillon has been in the middle of it from both sides. Dillon was the starting designated hitter during the 2005 College World Series and acted as an assistant coach when the “Feed the Beaver” craze in 2012 propelled the squad to a Big 12 championship.

Baylor football head coach Dave Aranda is one win away from bouncing back from a 3-9 season in 2023 and securing bowl eligibility in 2024. The Bears (5-4, 3-3 Big 12) are on a three-game winning streak and will look to win their first game on the road against West Virginia in program history at 3 p.m. Saturday at Milan-Puskar Stadium in Morgantown.
