VJ Edgecombe scored a career-high 30 points, becoming the first Baylor men’s basketball freshman to do so since Keyonte George scored 32 against West Virginia on Jan. 11, 2023, as the Bears rallied back from a 12 point deficit to take down Kansas State, 70-62, Wednesday night at Foster Pavilion.

“I think it’s really important that we win in this game, you know, to finish what we started,” head coach Dave Aranda said. “If we do that, it puts us in a good position for next year to go and win some more. We’ve really worked hard to win. This is going to be a tough game to win, but we need to win this game.”

Behind its best shooting day of the season, No. 18 Baylor women’s basketball shot 57.4% from the floor to blitz past Southern Miss, 101-55, in the Battle 4 Atlantis quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at Atlantis’ Imperial Arena in Nassau, Bahamas.

Baylor softball senior right-handed pitcher, third baseman and designated hitter Aliyah Binford has officially entered the transfer portal, the Baylor Lariat has learned.

Looking to protect home turf as the last Baylor players standing, No. 2-seeded men’s tennis duo seniors Marko Miladinovic and Oskar Brostrom Poulsen put on a show in front of the friendly Hurd Tennis Center crowd despite dropping their Sweet 16 match, 7-6(7), 4-6, 0-1(5), during the third day of the NCAA individual championships Thursday.

Even the bye week can’t stop redshirt freshman running back Bryson Washington from rewriting the Baylor record books. Just three games into the season, junior forward Darianna Littlepage-Buggs is having a career year as the team’s leader in points and rebounds. Littlepage-Buggs led all players with 22 points and 11 rebounds as No. 17 Baylor women’s basketball dropped East Texas A&M, 104-55, Thursday night at the Foster Pavilion.

Baylor baseball is no stranger to success, and assistant coach Zach Dillon has been in the middle of it from both sides. Dillon was the starting designated hitter during the 2005 College World Series and acted as an assistant coach when the “Feed the Beaver” craze in 2012 propelled the squad to a Big 12 championship.

The Bears (5-4, 3-3 Big 12) are on a three-game winning streak and will look to win their first game on the road against West Virginia in program history at 3 p.m. Saturday at Milan-Puskar Stadium in Morgantown.
