    Tuesday, Aug. 29

     

    LatinX Night

    Location: Barfield Drawing Room | Cost: Free | Time: 6 p.m.

    Within the last semester, the LatinX Coalition at Baylor has hosted forums on immigration and protested the Baylor Kappa Sigma chapter, that was suspended for a racially insensitive party. LatinX Coalition at Baylor will share their goals for the semester and how to become a member.

    Smash Mouth w/ Honest Men

    Location: The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill | Cost: GA $20 | Time: Doors: 6 p.m. Show: 8:30 p.m.

    The Backyard will open their rustic outdoor stage to Smash Mouth w/ Honest Men. Listen for Smash Mouth songs such as “Walkin’ on the Sun” and “All Star” as the cool summer night winds down.

    Wednesday, Aug. 30

     

    Mosaic South Asian Night

    Location: Barfield Drawing Room | Cost: Free | Time: 6 p.m.

    To end the Department of Multicultural Affairs’ Mosaic Week, the Mosaic South Asian Night will take over the Barfield Drawing Room for anyone interested in learning about the organizations that will be present.

    Summer Movie Series at the Silos: “The Wizard of Oz”

    Location: Magnolia Market at the Silos | Cost: Free | Time: 8:30 p.m.

    The Summer Movie Series at the Silos will be showing “Wizard of Oz” just as the sun sets. By partnering with First Friday, Magnolia Market at the Silos as shown films throughout the summer for free. Guests are invited to lounge out on the lawn and enjoy the classic film.

    Waco 52 Pop-up Gallery

    Location: 712 Austin Ave. | Cost: Free | Time: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Mon. – Sat.

    Waco 52 Pop-up Gallery will exhibit 52 art pieces 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 712 Austin Ave. The gallery exemplifies talented local artists and will leave Aug. 31.

    John McClanahan: The Velasco Paintings

    Location: Martin Museum of Art | Cost: Free | Time: 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Tues.- Fri.

    Former Baylor Art Department Chair John McClanahan’s collection “The Velasco Paintings“ will feature abstract landscape paintings and water color works from Aug. 22 to Sept. 24 at Martin Museum of Art.
