One man was arrested Friday afternoon in the 200 block of Gurley Lane near Baylor University after Waco Police Department officers executed a narcotics search warrant, according to a Waco police officer on scene with the Drug Enforcement Section.

Waco SWAT team members assisted in the search of a rental home that involved multiple types of narcotics, the officer said. All the officers involved were undercover. He would not say how long officers been investigating this residence. He would also not say which narcotics were seized because the investigation is on going and could lead to more arrests.

“You try to catch a small fish so you can catch a bigger fish,” the officer said.

Corpus Christi senior Patrick Campbell lives across the street from where the incident took place and said he first saw police cars on the scene at 1:30 p.m. More than a dozen officers were on the scene. From his residence, Campbell could see people climbing the fence behind the rental home being searched while officers ran after them. He later saw a man handcuffed in the front yard.
