After winning the semifinals in March, Baylor’s a cappella team VirtuOSO traveled to New York City for the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) Finals on Saturday. This marks a huge milestone in the team’s journey and paves the way for VirtuOSO’s future in the coming years.

Baylor’s a capella team, VirtuOSO, competed in the semifinals in Scottsdale, Ariz., bringing yet another victory home. VirtuOSO has become more than a close-knit group or a place for musicians to exercise their unique talents: it has become a glimpse of a God’s design for a reality where people are united through Christ’s love.
For VirtuOSO, Baylor’s competitive jazz a capella group, the taste of victory is still lingering as they celebrate a first place win at the quarterfinals for the ICCA Southwest Region competition in San Antonio on Jan. 31.
It’s a good thing Baylor is no slouch when it comes to putting on events and performances. So, do yourself a favor this semester by breaking out of that endless cycle and checking out some of these arts and entertainment events put on by fellow classmates and peers and snag some CAE credits while you’re at it.
The cast of “Pitch Perfect” has nothing on Baylor’s VirtuOSO. The 14 member a cappella choir will compete at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Final in New York on April 18.

“If someone else isn’t comparing us to ‘Pitch Perfect’, we’re quoting it and acting it out ourselves,” Marshall junior Ross Tarpley said.
