Halloween is a unique time to lean into that spooky, scary feeling, and I don’t feel like we do that often or well enough. More emphasis should be placed on things like haunted houses, horror movies and scary decorations, and less on just playing dress up or going out to get candy.

As the pumpkins make their way onto porches and candies of every color, shape and size find their way into bowls, I begin to wonder what faces and masks might be haunting houses this Halloween. After some pondering, here are my 2026 Halloween costume predictions.
