With the removal of the Big 12 championship game after the exit of Colorado and Nebraska, this final week of games will decide which team earns the automatic BCS bid. Although only six teams are playing this week, all of them have earned bowl bids, making each matchup important for the Big 12 standings and potential bowl positions.

The Baylor volleyball offense was stuck in neutral as the Big 12 leader No. 15 Iowa State Cyclones swept the Bears 3-0 (19-25, 14-25, 18-25.) Saturday in Ames, Iowa.

Of course, College Gameday is in Dallas. If this rivalry does not get these teams fired up, then nothing will.

The Baylor soccer team is off to its best start since the 1996 inaugural season, when it raced out to a 10-1-1 start.

Baylor soccer (7-2-1) will continue Big 12 play on the road when it faces the University of Texas Longhorns (6-2) at 7 p.m. today in Austin. Then they will travel back up I-35 to play host to the Weber State Wildcats (2-6) at 1 p.m. Sunday on Betty Lou Mays Field.

The College Gameday setup is down at Florida State, where the Seminoles have been talking about this game all summer long. The big question is: has Oklahoma been talking about this game all summer long?

When I first heard about Baylor’s threat to sue Texas A&M and the SEC if the Aggies left the Big 12, I thought we were kind of like the annoying little brother not letting A&M leave when it wanted to.

It shocked no one that the Sooners broke open the 2011 season with a 47-14 win over Tulsa. Heisman candidate junior quarterback Landry Jones threw for 375 yards and one touchdown. His favorite target, senior wide receiver Ryan Broyles, caught 14 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown.
