Upon its founding, Baylor banned the chartering of national fraternities and sororities. It wasn’t until 1975 that the ban was finally lifted, the floodgates opened and Baylor Greek life’s tumultuous and iconic history began.

From the moment the March sisters stepped onto stage, a wave of nostalgia swept the room as the audience experienced Louisa May Alcott’s age-old story of love, loss and all of the little moments in between that make a family.

Students, staff and Waco locals will have the opportunity to be whisked away to the Civil War era world created in Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, “Little Women,” via a Broadway musical version of the story put on by the Baylor University Theatre.

Woofstock, Alpha Phi’s biggest philanthropy event of the year, supported women’s heart health with a cutest dog contest surrounded by food trucks, a bouncy castle and plenty of photo ops. The event was held Wednesday evening at Bear Park.

Baylor’s Pi Mu chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha is a two-time Mosaic Mixer Showcase champion, but this year, they’re not out for another trophy. They’re in pursuit of growing their sisterly bond.

In 40 days, hundreds of women will receive a bid for their dream sorority, and social media will be flooded with bid day posts filled with matching T-shirts, color-coordinated tutus and group photos. But for every jubilant post, there are bound to be those who end up feeling less enthusiastic about the process.
