Even though I don’t necessarily want to follow Newton’s advice, building momentum is essential to boosting productivity and getting the hard stuff done. Working very hard in short episodes is one thing, but consistency will keep you afloat in college, yield higher self-esteem and make you feel like a winner.

The theme of the Nobel Prize Summit 2023 was “Truth, Trust and Hope,” highlighting discoveries contributing to a sustainable, resilient, peaceful and prosperous future. At the panel, faculty presented on nanoparticle research, vaccine research, attosecond physics and the economics of women in the labor market.
Dr. Barbara Castanheira Endl, an assistant professor of physics, is preparing to publish the results of her research on white dwarf stars. Her focus was to understand the structure and components of the stars. Due to their very small and faint appearance and being at the final stage of star evolution, studying them is often on the fringes of telescopic capabilities.
Dr. Bennie Ward, distinguished professor of physics since 2003, has traveled across the country and internationally to teach, research, solve problems in physics, work with the government and on the supercollider in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Society of Physics Students will host the competition at 6 p.m. Thursday in E125 Baylor Sciences Building, but there’s a catch — the topics aren’t physics related.
