After two years of stellar quarterback play from Sawyer Robertson, the Bears are turning to a room of fresh faces to captain the offense.

“Some of the Sawyer that we saw today was maybe the Sawyer from two years ago or further back,” head coach Dave Aranda said. “We’ve got to get the Sawyer that we’ve got now, we’ve got to get him back to himself as last year or the beginning of this year. That was not what was happening today.”
For the first time since 2020, Baylor football kicked off spring practice with no question marks surrounding who the starting quarterback would be. Highlighted by redshirt senior Sawyer Robertson, the uncontested QB1, the quarterback room is looking to elevate the Bears’ top 20 offense in year two with offensive coordinator Jake Spavital.
Baylor football racked up 603 yards as it stormed past Kansas, 45-17, on Saturday afternoon at McLane Stadium. It was the first time Baylor accumulated more than 600 yards against a Big 12 opponent since Nov. 25, 2016, when the Bears totaled 634 against Texas Tech.
