America has always debated politics, but today it feels more divided than ever. When disagreement turns into distrust, what happens to unity?

If we are not outraged enough about the Epstein files, it is not because the crimes were unclear. It is because outrage requires something of us. It requires attention, courage and to care more about exploited children than about the comfort of the powerful.
The real issue is this: as political beliefs and systems are always changing, rooting morals completely in political affiliations can be an unstable ground.
The bottom line is that when we equate people to the ideas they hold, it ruins relationships — so much so that we all believe it is better to stay away from talking about politics at all.
