Baylor volleyball’s current class of freshmen was rated as the No. 16 recruiting class in the nation by to Prepvolleyball.com.

With the infusion of freshman talent, the team needs veteran leadership to guide it through the grueling season.

Senior setter Kate Harris is the backbone of the team, and the team relies on Harris for her leadership and inspiration.

“She’s the heart and soul of this team,” Baylor head coach Jim Barnes said. “Hard work is her middle name. She’s always the first to practice and the last to leave.”

Baylor volleyball stunned the No. 25 Oklahoma Sooners, bringing home a 3-1 victory (26-28, 27-25, 25-22, 25-22.)

Yet again, a Baylor team was unable to defeat Texas A&M.

Despite the upsetting loss to Texas Tech right after an off weekend, the team bounced back with a five-set victory (25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 14-25, 15-13) Saturday over Kansas State.

Baylor volleyball was not able to gain a victory against No. 10 Texas Wednesday night, falling 25-16, 16-25, 25-15, 25-19.

Baylor took a break from conference play to sweep the University of North Texas on Tuesday evening 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-16.)

The Baylor volleyball team overcame a 2-0 set deficit to rally three straight, defeating Missouri 3-2 (23-25, 16-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-9).

Baylor volleyball gained its second Big 12 victory this season by winning all three sets Wednesday night against Texas Tech (19-25, 23-25, 18-25).

Baylor forced five sets against the Aggies Wednesday in College Station but could not come away victorious, losing by a final score of 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 25-19, 15-25, 5-15).

Baylor could not catch a break Saturday as Kansas State dominated the match 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-18.)
