No. 6 Baylor men’s basketball will look to bounce back from a deflating loss at home to the Kansas Jayhawks, as it takes on the No. 4 Missouri Tigers at 1:30 p.m. Saturday as they travel to Columbia, Mo.

No. 6 Baylor men’s basketball will take on the Kansas Jayhawks at 6 p.m. today at the Ferrell Center. Kansas is currently tied with Baylor for second place in the Big 12 standings. Both teams are currently half of a game behind Missouri.

No. 6 men’s basketball won a close game in Stillwater, Okla. on Saturday against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 64-60. This game had a very different feel than the previous meeting against Oklahoma State that Baylor won 106-65 on Jan. 14 in the Ferrell Center.

In what could be the Jayhawks’ final game at Missouri, the No. 4 Tigers scored the final 11 points in the last 2:05 to come from behind and beat their archrivals 74-71 on Saturday night for only the second time in the last 12 meetings.

College basketball is different than most other sports. Thankfully, we can crown a true national champion when the post-season is all said and done, but this isn’t what makes the sport unique. What truly sets college basketball apart from other sports is the role of the fans.

With the removal of the Big 12 championship game after the exit of Colorado and Nebraska, this final week of games will decide which team earns the automatic BCS bid. Although only six teams are playing this week, all of them have earned bowl bids, making each matchup important for the Big 12 standings and potential bowl positions.

The Big 12 is on the national television stage once again as No. 22 Baylor battles No. 5 Oklahoma at 7 p.m. on ABC in Waco. Other things at stake for conference teams include bowl eligibility and national title game aspirations.

If the rivalry wasn’t heated enough, throw in the conference realignment fiasco that took place in September. Kyle field threatens a hostile environment for Baylor, but the Bears are ready for the Aggies.

Coming off a historically successful weekend for Baylor soccer, the team looks to repeat its recent victories. This past weekend, the Bears surged past two Big 12 teams, Kansas and Iowa State, both on the road. This weekend the Bears will face Missouri at 7 p.m. Friday at home and will play host again for Jackson State at 1 p.m. Sunday.
